Hi, Welcome to the first module of our course on “Responsible Digital Learning”
In this module, we will be reminded that Digital Tayo Teachers are RESPONSIBLE by refreshing ourselves with “Digital Foundations” or the basic skills teachers and learners need to protect personal information and data.
Did you know that 1 out 3 internet users are children and adolescents under 18 years old? [1]
Consider your own classes, how many of your students have used the internet whether it’s for social media, online gaming, or for school? How many of your students have their own social media accounts? How many of them are connected with you online?
With a high number of children now using the internet as “digital citizens”, it’s important that we are able to guide them on how to navigate the online space safely.
In this module we aim to:
- Reflect on individual behaviors related to online privacy and security; and
- Contribute to an online library of current challenges or threats to safe and responsible online use of teachers and learners
