Reviewing Learning Theories
Our goal for this project is to create a playlist of resources that will help our learners understand a particular topic. Understanding our learners’ starting context is a great start. As teachers and learning experience designers, we should also have a deep understanding of how people learn. This is where learning theories come in.
Recall the learning theories you’ve learned and think about them in the context of curating learning materials for your learner. As you review your learning theories, think about this question: According to the learning theories we know, what kinds of resources to develop certain knowledge? Skills? Attitudes?
Here are some resources that you can use to review the different learning theories:
